Twitter to allow photo sharing soon

Twitter chief executive Dick Costolo recently announced at the All Things Digital technology conference that Twitter a San Francisco-based service will be upgrading its search function.Twitter will soon allow users to upload pictures and attach them to “tweets” directly from Twitter.com,
Costolo said.“It’s part of the native data of the tweet,” he said, adding that the decision to launch a photo-sharing service stemmed from a “need to remove the friction of adding photos to Twitter.” Twitter said that its official mobile applications will also provide a photo-sharing feature and the service will be available in the next several weeks.

As for search, Twitter said it will begin showing related photos and videos in search results.Twitter’s launch of a photo-sharing option poses a potentially serious threat to various third-party services people currently use to post pictures on Twitter. Read more…

Google unveils Payment Options for Publishers

Google unveils a new platform for online content payment. Eric Schmidt announced it on a speech at Humboldt University in Berlin. They named it Google One Pass so the publishers can charge readers for digital content. Readers who purchase from a One Pass publisher can access their content on tablets, smartphones and websites using a single sign-on with an email and password. Google said publishers can offer readers a variety of options including full subscriptions or even single articles for purchase. With Google One Pass, publishers can customize how and when they charge for content while experimenting with different models to see what works best for them.
